Help us organise events and activities or volunteer to help out

LCON is a small charity run mostly by volunteers. We are always looking for help in organising activities; helping at events; communications and administration; and fundraising. To find out more about any of the activities below, or suggest other ways you could help, email us: info[at]lcon.org.uk .

  • Organising activities: Let us know if you would like to get involved in any of our current activities. We usually have small groups working on particular subjects like home energy, transport, or young people and education. Or got a good low carbon idea? Talk to us.
  • Running events: We run regular public meetings and open discussion forums. If you like talking to people, or would like to work behind the scenes, please get in touch.
  • Communications and admin: Join the small team tweeting and posting on LCON’s social media, or help with maintaining our website, capturing evaluation data,  and other essential admin and record-keeping. Just an hour or so a week of your time can make a real difference to us.
  • Fundraising: We welcome help in approaching grant making bodies as well as individuals in the community.

Become a trustee

Our board meetings take place once a month. You can come along to observe our meetings, or have a chat with one of us, before deciding whether to put yourself forward as a trustee. We will ask you to tell us a bit about yourself and arrange for two existing trustees to talk with you. See the information about existing trustees.

Worried about climate change? Come to one of our warm and friendly climate cafes

Climate Cafés provide a supportive space in which to talk about how the climate crisis is affecting us – without pressure to act. Find out more on our Climate Cafes page.
