LCON is looking for a new Chair

LCON is looking for a new (voluntary) Chair to join the Board of Trustees. Building on a number of successful recent projects (see https://lcon.org.uk), now is the time to scale up LCON’s reach and impact. The urgency of climate and environmental action continues to grow. As local residents and decision-makers look for ways to take meaningful action, LCON is well placed to identify, develop and deliver such opportunities.

This is an opportunity for an incoming Chair to bring their vision, skills and energy to help build LCON’s profile and grow its activities and impact. We are looking for someone who will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to the Board and coherence to LCON’s activities.
  • Promote LCON’s aims, values and projects among LCON’s community and stakeholders, including through building and strengthening relationships with partners and decision-makers.
  • Serve as steward of LCON’s purpose, reputation and resources.

To apply by 20 February 2026:

  • You should reside in LCON’s membership area of north Oxford, i.e. any of Carfax and Jericho, Cutteslowe and Sunnymead, Summertown, Walton Manor, or Wolvercote.
  • Please write to info@lcon.org.uk with some information about yourself and your interests, experience and background. We can put you in touch with a Trustee by phone if you have questions.
  • Please include a statement confirming that you are eligible to act as a charity trustee (see this government publication for the rules about this). We will hold interviews as and when applications are received. We will ask you for references.
