LCON is recruiting for a part-time Operations Coordinator

*** 2 days a month, £150/day, deadline for applications 8 February 2026***

Low Carbon Oxford North (LCON) is an established and award-winning local charity, set up to  support ambitious CO2 cuts and a healthier, greener environment, in north Oxford and beyond. We work with our community to take local action, offering practical ideas, information and activities. We also collaborate with other groups and engage with our city and county councils, to influence climate and environmental action across Oxford. We believe we are part of a wider community of people who, together, can make a difference.

The opportunity

This is an opportunity to bring your organising skills to help LCON grow and thrive: LCON is looking for an enthusiastic freelance Operations Coordinator to join the team, to manage and support LCON’s administrative processes and systems.

Working as an independent contractor with oversight from one of LCON’s trustees, the role will serve three main purposes:

  • To manage LCON’s administrative and communication systems and enable trustees to use these effectively, including LCON’s domain and email accounts; google drive; mailchimp; and monitoring and managing email enquiries from the public.
  • To support the running and development of a new membership structure. This will include processing membership applications, managing member communications (including through mailchimp), managing the membership application form and maintaining the membership register in line with GDPR requirements, analysing member information and reporting to trustees as required.
  • To assist LCON’s Chair in carrying out their functions, including the organisation of monthly board meetings, the AGM and other events, and taking minutes.

In addition, you will at times work with, and provide cover for, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator who works only in term time. This is likely to include occasional website updates, mailings and social media posts.

The contract will be for 2 days a month at £150 a day. There will be some flexibility in how these hours are allocated over the year, with some functions required more regularly (eg fielding email enquiries) and others that could be carried out in more concentrated periods of work. The contract is initially for one year but may be extended further depending on LCON’s requirements and availability of funds.
