Low Carbon Oxford North’s new series of Housewarming meetings start January 2026. The meetings are designed to support residents who are thinking about making energy improvements to their homes but are unsure where to start. It might be that the exceptionally hot weather earlier in the year has got you thinking about how to make your home cooler, or that looking ahead to the winter you are wondering how to keep warm and cut your heating bill. Or perhaps the boiler is nearing the end of its life, and you would like to know how to prepare for a heat pump replacement.
The meetings are run by homeowners with retrofit experience and are based on the expert information contained in our Housewarming Guides. We offer a combination of presentation and group discussion by which you build your knowledge step-by-step. By the end of the five sessions, you will be more knowledgeable about the options for your home, and more confident about taking the first step. Peer support is a big part of the programme and it continues after the meetings via our WhatsApp group.
Meetings take place on Tuesdays, 7.30pm – 9.00pm at the North Oxford Association Community Centre in Summertown on:
- 27 Jan – Retrofit Planning
- 3 Feb – Insulation
- 10 Feb – Doors, windows, draughts, ventilation
- 24 Feb – Heat pumps and solar
- 3 Mar – Case studies
The events are free, although donations are welcome. More information can be found on our Housewarming page. Reserve your place by contacting the Housewarming Project Coordinator: philippa.oconnor@lcon.org.uk .
We are very grateful to Low Carbon Hub for supporting this year’s Housewarming programme with grant funding.
