CoHSAT – the Coalition for Healthy Streets and Active Travel

CoHSAT was set up following a meeting in October 2018. The coalition has been set up to deliver on the agreed objectives (see main page). This is a coalition of organisations or groups across Oxfordshire – their details are below. There are no individual members of the coalition. 

If your organisation supports our aims and would like to join the coalition, please contact info@lcon.org.uk, as LCON are providing the secretariat for CoHSAT at the moment. We will be delighted to receive applications from community groups, charities or local businesses.

Our members include:

Cyclox is the voice of cycling in Oxford. Our aims are to improve cycling infrastructure. to raise the profile of cycling in Oxford, to promote responsible cycling, and to make cycling fun. We are a membership organisation – please join us.  Our committee are all volunteers who live or work in Oxford, supported by one part-time coordinator. 

Low Carbon Oxford North (LCON) is a group of local residents offering practical ideas and information to help people in North Oxford shrink their carbon footprint.We are working on issues including Energy and climate change, Transport and Food.

Oxford Friends of the Earth works to protect and improve our environment locally and nationally. We are currently active on climate change, air pollution, plastics and opposing the proposed new ‘Oxford-Cambridge ExpressWay’. We have set up the Oxfordshire Clean Air Charter and welcome people to sign up. We welcome new members. 

Oxfordshire Livable Streets is an organisation working to promote a safe and liveable streetscape and travel environment in Oxfordshire and to develop and see the realisation of a blueprint for a better transport environment in Oxfordshire.

Oxfordshire Cycling Network (OCN) proposes a county-wide ‘all ages, all abilities’ cycle network linking major towns, workplaces and transport hubs safe, direct and attractive routes.  It is a starting point for discussions with the County Council and the public about its shape, its benefits and its costs.

Oxford Pedestrians Association promote better conditions for those walking in the city.

O2 is a project-focused sub-group of LCON currently working on the following linked themes: reducing air pollution in Oxford; increasing the take-up of electric vehicles powered by renewable sources of electricity; and reducing traffic in (North) Oxford by supporting the growth of walking, cycling and local facilities.

Oxford Civic Society Transport Group – We work towards achieving a sustainable travel infrastructure that works well for everyone – people on foot, on cycles, in motorised vehicles and on public transport. We believe transport issues are inextricably linked to development proposals.

The Broken Spoke is a not-for-profit social enterprise started by people who are really passionate about cycling, and we provide mechanics courses, cycle training, and a hub of information for people who cycle (or really want to).

Rose Hill and Iffley Low Carbon We are a group of people working with our local community, often with or through other local groups, to raise awareness about climate change and help people reduce their carbon footprint.

Pedal and Post We are Oxford’s Eco delivery services. We have the largest Cargo bike fleet which are fast, reliable, cost effective and deliver come rain or shine.
