We’re delighted to announce plans to develop a brand-new transport website for Oxford and Oxfordshire.  Thanks to a £5000 community grant from the Low Carbon Hub, LCON is looking to develop a simple website to provide guidance, resources and signposting for those wishing to reduce their car use and explore active and sustainable forms of travel.

What will the website include?

Building on our successful Oxford Car Free Challenge project and drawing on the expertise of other transport organisations, the website will include:

• a simple, clear directory of other travel sites covering travel options, discounts and fares, with tips and insights;
• information organised by themes, eg walking, cycling, public transport and car clubs;
• other practical information eg on cycle training and hire.

We also hope to help build a positive community around sustainable transport use and to inspire those thinking of changing their travel habits, for example, by featuring case studies and videos of people who have tried going car free.
